Finds: What Am I Looking At?

chaos_theory_b.jpg The vast majority of the photos on my blog are found, not made, and photography is a largely unexplored area for me. I thought it might be fun this week to explore the web for photographs, specifically abstact photographs. What started me on this journey was Candleday, which you’ll discover in my blogroll and here. Tomas Karkalas opened my eyes to the line where abstract art and photography meet…and his blog posts are interesting too!

In my wandering, here are some other sites I discovered:

Chromasia offers an amazing photograph daily, but this link will take you to their collection of abstract photos, including some “Chaos Theory” photos like the one above this post. Back at the galleries, you’ll find the work classified. On the gallery page, “And the Rest” has thumbs for everything. It’s worth wandering.

Kaleidoscope Eyes is the work of Carol Sowerby who, according to the bio on her site, is a transplanted Britain in Canada who once worked as a photographer for Virgin Records in London. Abstract is just one of he categories, but many of her photographs are abstract in their direction.

I don’t read French very well, so I apologize for any mistakes, but kreion-liv.com includes the work of Lauren Conan and some very colorful and textural abstract photographs. The photographs of abstract paintings are particularly beautiful.

Sometimes, before I paint myself, I like to visit places that stimulate my eyes, and I hope these links will stimulate your eyes too.
